Quail Creek Quilt Covey

QCQC is a group of quilters with varying levels of experience who gather weekly, or more often, to share our love of quilting and all things fabric! Our Monday Quilters group focuses on working together to make quilts for charity. Each year, as a group or as individuals, QCQC members make and give over 100 quilts to the community charities we support.

Our group has three specialty groups: Fabric Plus, Art Quilters, and Long Arm Quilters.

Fabric Plus focuses on educating and sharing new garment and home decorating techniques, as well as sewing needed items for charity The Fabric Plus Group meets the first Friday of the month at 9:00 in the Covey Studio.

Art Quilters use both modern and traditional quilting techniques to create art objects. They learn to make and dye their own fabrics, create embellishments, and put what they have created into wall hangings, small quilts, or other art objects. The group meets every Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Covey Studio.

Long Arm Quilters are members who have received training on Covey’s Long Arm machine. Using what they have learned, these members quilt the quilts made by our group as well as personal quilts for members.

  1. To contribute to the growth and knowledge of quilting techniques,textiles, patterns and history of quilt making.
  1. To promote mutual friendship and provide learning opportunities to all members.
  2. To support community charities through quilt donations.

BECOME A MEMBER

Members of the Quail Creek Quilt Covey include experienced quilters, beginners, and all levels in between. We make traditional and modern quilts, art quilts, applique, wall hangings, and other quilted items, depending on the season and the project. While most of us quilt by machine, some prefer to quilt by hand. Our quilts are made for personal use or gifts, and for charity. Many of our quilts are sold at the annual Quail Creek Crafts Festival.

To join us, stop by the Covey Studio in the CATC building Monday afternoon at 1:00 or Thursday mornings at 9:00.

MEETING PLACE and TIME

We meet every Thursday at 9 a.m. in our studio located in the Creative Arts and Technology Building.

The first Thursday of every month is a general business meeting.  The remaining Thursdays are utilized for various programs and workshops.

Annual dues are $20. The $20 dues allow you to participate in the main Covey Quilting group as well as the specialty groups. There is an additional $10 fee for long arm quilters.
